Can I duplicate or relaunch a previous Poll?
Reminder: A poll is collection of survey peer groups that collectively answer your underlying topic of inquiry. The poll may be "Senior biz dev roles in 2026", and then each survey is going to be tightly focused on peer groups within that space, like "Senior BizDev team leads at Series B fintech" and "Senior Bizdev team leads at Fortune 500 fintechs"). (Read: How to Polls and Surveys work together)
You can relaunch a Poll — but you can’t duplicate one.
Here’s what that means in practice.
“Complete” doesn’t mean “closed” for a Poll
A Poll is considered complete when all of its Surveys are complete.
That does not mean the Poll is closed forever.
- You cannot reopen a completed Survey (We explain why here)
- But you can add new Survey peer groups to an existing Poll at any time
When you add a new Survey under an existing Poll:
- It inherits the Poll’s question model automatically
- It publishes its own Survey-level report when complete
- Poll-level roll-ups are recalculated automatically
So in that sense, relaunching a Poll simply means adding new Surveys to it.
Why you can’t duplicate a Poll
We don’t allow “Copy this Poll and start a new one.”
This is a deliberate product decision.
Polls evolve over time as Salary Confidential gains new question types, analytics, and capabilities.
If we allowed you to duplicate an old Poll, you might unknowingly reuse a legacy question model and miss out on newer features.
Rather than silently letting you start from an outdated model, we make a clear choice:
- New Polls always use the current, most capable question set
- You explicitly choose your questions again, with full visibility into what’s available
In practice, selecting questions for a new Poll takes about 30 seconds — and ensures you’re always working with the best version of the platform.
