Salary Confidential includes integrity checks designed to detect patterns consistent with ballot stuffing or Sybil attacks, where multiple responses may originate from the same underlying source. Unlike other survey platforms, we make these checks mandatory and there is no way for a survey to opt-out

These checks run when a survey closes. If we detect signals that may reduce the reliability of the dataset, the survey may be placed into a temporary review state while additional checks are performed.

Depending on the outcome, the survey will either:

• close without publishing a results report, or
• publish with its results, potentially accompanied by a disclosure explaining the nature of the issue detected

These mechanisms are designed to protect both the accuracy of results and the privacy of respondents.
