How do I know if my surveys will attract responses?

Salary Confidential surveys are meant to be the exchange of peer data. Transparency in who is asking and the reason for the ask supports your request. The quality of the peer focus makes acquiring the result report attractive for a potential respondent (data that can help them too) and is the external incentive for them to participate

What to expect

Response rates depend on clarity and credibility. Peers are more likely to respond when:

  • The Survey description feels specific and relevant.
  • They can connect this clearly with your professional identity (LinkedIn or verified email) as it appears on the survey page. It signals legitimacy — they’re being contacted by a professional peer, not an anonymous researcher.
  • The number of responses requested is realistic (4–8 slots is typically ideal).

Platform signals

You can monitor early engagement from your dashboard. It displays how many responses have been received, even before partial results unlock at three responses.
If engagement is low, you can edit your Outreach interview, refine the message, and re-generate your outreach messages.
